Summer 1.0

So summer is approximately 6 weeks old. Prior to college I would have felt like summer was almost over but college summer break is a whole different ballgame. There’s still two months of quality summer action ahead of me. Highlights so far include:

-Interning at Christ Community Church. My internship is going fantastically so far. The people are awesome and I’m actually doing work that I enjoy. I couldn’t ask for a better situation for me this summer.

-Caleb and Jenna’s wedding. It was the first time I had witnessed two of my friends get married, I guess I’m growing up. Caleb came along at a time in my life when I really needed someone like him and I’ve known Jenna since 7th grade. I wish them all the happiness in the world. Now it’s my cousins turn this weekend. I get the pleasure of being a groomsmen. You know what that means, watch out single bridesmaids!

-Nebraska Angels video project. So anyone that knows me has probably heard me talk about the project I’m doing for the Nebraska Angels. It’s my first big, independent video project and it’s gone surprisingly well, minus was problem I’m currently working on solving. I look forward to sharing the video video in a few weeks! Thanks to everyone that has supported and encouraged me during this process.

-Two quotes/lyrics that have me thinking. The first is a lyric from a song by The Head and the Heart, “My roots have grown but I don’t know where they are.” The second is from a friend’s photography website where it said “Love God. Love People. Change the World.” I think I need to think more about those…

-New(ish) music. A lot of great music has come out recently. I’m really digging these albums for summer fun.
-“Bon Iver, Bon Iver” by Bon Iver
-“Simple Math” by Manchester Orchestra
-“Codes and Keys” by Death Cab for Cutie
-“Torches” by Foster the People (absolutely phenomenal)
-“Little Hell” by City and Colour

-Lastly, iPad. I picked up an iPad on Friday and I can’t put it down. After working with people who utilize iPads everyday it showed me how I could actually make it worth the investment. Any other iPad users out there, I’d love your app/usage suggestions.

Thanks for reading. Hope your summers are growing well.
